Install googlymaps on your Android phone straight from this page.

Download googlymaps 2.3.0 for Android

Version 2.3.0, 11.4 MB, published 2026-10-10, for Android 7.0 and later.

What your phone will say

You will have to allow your browser to install apps once. Then Android will tell you it cannot tell who made this, in words like unknown developer or this app was not checked by Play Protect. That is expected, and it is not a problem with this file.

Play Protect knows who published an app by watching the Play Store install it. Nothing installed from a browser has that, so there is nothing for it to recognise, whoever built the file and however it is signed. Every APK downloaded from every website gets the same warning.

What you can actually check is the fingerprint. This file is signed with the same key Google Play uses to sign googlymaps, so if the SHA-256 below matches what your phone downloaded, you have the build we published and not somebody else's.

SHA-256

484acee94399f7a93c348563bfad12436209df1f68f9a7aa9e7df3b56c665470

Two honest warnings

It will not update itself. There is no store behind this file, so new versions mean coming back here and installing again. If you later install googlymaps from Google Play instead, that install takes over, because it is signed with the same key, and updates then arrive normally.

Nothing else changes. Same app, same account, same pins. Signing in here and on the web gets you the same everything.

If you would rather not install anything, the whole app runs in a browser at googlymaps.net and always will.
